This week’s image is by the great Turkish photographer Ergun Çağatay (1937-2018). You may remember I wrote about him in a longer newsletter after visiting his former studio in Istanbul and working on a book about his vast collection with the magazine Cornucopia.
Çağatay took many thousands of photographs but for this View Finder I’ve chosen this one, below, of women shopping for fabric but where are they and why am I showing it to you now?
