to Yerevan, and what to know about Armenia's election results

This View Finder takes us to downtown Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. I took this photograph, below, on a hot summer’s day a few years ago and I’m sharing it with you today as Armenia is in the news.
Last week, prime minister Nikol Pashinyan marked an important election victory. This is despite a bitter military defeat to Azerbaijan, and despite Russia trying to influence the results of what analysts were calling the most consequential election since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
But while it was a win, it was not as good as it sounds. Find out why below from our guest analyst, James Kilner.
